Our founders, Ken Millisor and Steve Nobil, were practicing labor law at a large firm when they realized that little, if any, attention was focused on trying to help clients avoid problems in the first place. Because this seemed counterintuitive to good business practice and effective legal representation, they left and started our firm in 1975. millisor + nobil was founded  with a deep commitment to helping employers identify and resolve employee concerns before they become costly, time-consuming problems.

 

The firm’s initial growth came from careful recruitment of experienced labor attorneys who shared our founders’ passion for a preventive approach, while also delivering creative solutions to labor related problems. The firm continued to grow through the 80s, a decade during which the labor law practice expanded into other areas of the workplace, namely employment discrimination. As a result, the firm shifted its recruiting efforts toward finding experienced litigators to help employers resolve and prevent future disputes. Today, each of our five practice groups – Labor, Litigation, Workers’ Compensation, Human Resources, and Benefits – help clients large and small develop and implement programs to prevent major problems.
